EWP Over 11m - HRW

About this course

This unit specifies the skills and knowledge required to operate a boom type EWP safely in accordance with all relevant legislative requirements.

Successful completion of this course results in a Nationally Recognised High Risk Work Licence (HRWL). This course is designed to develop and confirm the skills and knowledge required to operate a boom type EWP.

On successful completion of this course you will be issued with a Statement of Attainment for the following Unit of Competency:

TLILIC0005 Licence to operate a boom type EWP (boom length 11 metres or more) (WP)

VOC if required will incur a additional fee

The course commences when you book and the time taken to achieve your licence will depend on your progress through the course. This course will take 3 days, this includes the following:

  • Day 1 – 8 hour day for training

  • Day 2 – 8 hour day for training

  • Day 3 – SafeWork NSW Assessment

What is involved in getting a Boom-Type EWP HRW licence?

  1. Attend your training  (as per your booking) Theory / Practical

  2. Apply online for an assessment enrolment number.

  3. Apply online for your high risk work licence (Service NSW App).

  4. https://www.service.nsw.gov.au/services/high-risk-work-licence

  5. Complete the assessment with a SafeWork Accredited Assessor.

  6. Upon completing the assessment, SafeWork NSW will send you an email containing your interim licence and further instructions. If this is your first time applying for a high-risk work licence, you'll need to visit a Service NSW location for your photo and to pay the fee. If you're already a-risk work licence holder, you can conveniently pay the fee online.

Re assessment, complaints and appeals

Our trainers have the experience, abilities and training to effectively assist you in your course by providing well designed training and assessment. During your training you will receive feedback about your performance including suggestions where required. Should your trainer feel that after training you still require further training (due to results of the assessments in your course) or you need to be reassessed (there is one assessment completed during training and before your SafeWork NSW test) you will be informed of your options. If you fail your licence assessment, reassessment fees and minimum waiting times also apply to reassessment.

What happens next

SafeWork NSW will:

  1. Review your renewal application and contact you by email if they need more information to process your application additionally SafeWork NSW will send you an email containing your interim licence and further instructions. If this is your first time applying for a high-risk work licence, you'll need to visit a Service NSW location for your photo and to pay the fee. If you're already a-risk work licence holder, you can conveniently pay the fee online.

  2. Email you a confirmation with your licence details if your application is successful

  3. Add your details to the public register Verify NSW.

  4. Mail your photo licence card to you.
